TLX8 is the industry’s premium thermal pallet cover made from SOLARAP™, a new advanced solar radiation barrier material.
The smart technology works harder the hotter it gets, reflecting solar radiation from all surfaces, irrespective of the angle of the sun. This allows the thermal pallet cover to protect against heat on the tarmac.
TLX8 is a proven solution, having gone through 12 months of rigorous testing in Western Australia at temperatures of 50°C+. This unique thermal cover is ideal for pharmaceutical, perishable and chemical shipments. TLX8 is fully recyclable, simply take to your local recycling centre.
TLX8 cargo covers are made from SOLARAP™. Protecting cargo from heat buildup is complex because solar radiation contains billions of electromagnetic waves that range from the smallest wavelength; ultraviolet (this can be 1500-2000 times smaller than the thickness of a human hair), to the largest; infrared (which is roughly 20 times larger).
These waves will vary in their angle of attack and intensity according to the makeup of the atmosphere and position of the sun. On a clear, dry, sunny day they will strike the cargo cover at a predictable angle. But if there is any moisture or wind, then the waves will be scattered in all directions.
SOLARAP™ solves these problems by capturing this incoming solar radiation so that it bounces off the walls of billions of tiny nano-pores formed inside the material. These pores are circular and are designed to build a 360° wall of intense energy that scatters radiation from whichever direction it comes.
As a result, SOLARAP™ works harder the hotter it gets.
Although only 0.5mm thick, SOLARAP™ nano-pores have a surface area of 35.3 m2/g, meaning that the pores in one TLX8 cargo cover have the surface area of 8 football pitches.
Because SOLARAP™ is so thin, as soon as the temperature drops, the cover immediately releases all its heat.
SOLARAP™ is the world’s first material specifically designed to mitigate heat buildup inside a cargo cover in all weather conditions.
