The first Thermal Pallet Cover to incorporate Phase Change Material (PCM) into its structure. This cover self-regulates its performance according to the conditions, by recharging and freezing at 5°C, 8°C and 19°C and absorbing heat up until 25°C+. Being able to encapsulate PCM within the physical fibres of the thermal blanket gives a simple to use all in one product. This unique system delivers a robust, thin, flexible and easy to handle solution. The outer surfaces of TLX PCM incorporate a low-emissivity surface designed to reflect over 97% of thermal radiation over the measured spectral range.
- 7 hrs Protection (40°C ambient temp)
- 2.85 kg total weight
- 2-8°C and 15-25°C shipments
- Reflects 97% of thermal radiation over the measured spectral range
- TLX Fibre-Flex non-leak PCM system
- Strong, flexible, easy to handle
- Waterproof
- Used for pharmaceutical, chemical, perishable and healthcare shipments
About PCMs
Phase Change Materials (PCMs) are special thermal energy storage materials being extensively used as a reliable source of energy to maintain required temperatures in various industries. They use chemical bonds to store and release heat. The thermal energy transfer occurs when a material changes from a solid to a liquid or from a liquid to a solid. This is called a change in state or 'phase'.
Why use PCM in a cargo cover?
Phase Change Materials are ideal for thermal energy storage as they are highly cost effective, stable and environmentally friendly. PCMs are ideal for cold chain transportation/storage, temperature controlled packaging for food and pharmaceuticals. They give consistency in performance over a substantial number of cycles, constant temperature maintenance during the release and absorption of Energy.
